I couldn’t have had a better couple to work with this spring at DAR! Brianna and Chris are two kind souls that have perfectly complimenting personalities and they, plus their families and friends, were wonderful to work with! And their wedding was absolutely stunning. Eight Tree Street Floral provided the gorgeous floral arrangements, music and uplighting by Bialek’s Music, catering by Design Cuisine, makeup by Alison Harper Co., art by Brittany Branson and planning by Margo at Bright Occasions. An amazing team of vendors made this wedding a beautiful, flawless day for the lovely couple.

2017 is a different year for me because it is the year that I am getting married! #Maui2017, whoo hoo! I am finally on the other side and it feels surreal! I am going through what all of my couples experience when searching for the right venue, photographer, creating a guest list, etc. It’s definitely fun, I will say! Dreaming about what your wedding day will be like and all the emotions you’ll experience. And it is also hard when making the final decisions! I chose my photographer, not only because her work was awesome, but another big reason was the way she responded to me in her email. She was extremely personable and showed a lot of enthusiasm – I was sold! There are a lot of great photographers out there who are skilled at shooting and editing, but it’s the personal touches that I believe really make a difference. And this is why I show that same enthusiasm and interest in my emails/meetings/etc. Love is a big deal and so is your wedding! Surround yourself with your favorite people and wedding vendors who love what they do and that make you feel special! My advice to you is to follow your “gut instinct” when picking out your photographer if you are having a hard time deciding – a simple truth, but sometimes you just can’t meet everybody if you are miles apart, like me, or have busy schedules so how they first connect with you, most likely through email or maybe a phone call, is an important start to your relationship. First impressions are everything! Also look for consistency in their work, ask to see full photo galleries and read reviews on sites such as Wedding Wire. Happy planning everyone!

I am beginning the new year with a new website and blog! It’s been long overdue and I am so excited to have it up and running! This beautiful new website design comes from an amazing website company called Showit. If you are considering a new website for yourself or for your business, consider using their services! Especially if you know nothing about website coding, like me!

I cannot wait for my 2017 wedding season to begin. My first wedding this year will be in Fairhope, Alabama in early March. This will be my first time in Alabama and I am excited to be shooting somewhere new! I have a lot of great couples that I get to work with this year who have chosen awesome venues for their weddings. And I’m looking forward to hearing from new couples who got engaged over the holidays! 🙂
